Why “Abundant Life Fellowship”?
You may be wondering why we chose the name "Abundant Life Fellowship"
Ours is a fairly new church. We began meeting in a Richland County Rec. Center gymnasium on October 14, 2001. We dedicated our new facilities at 2301 Clemson Road, Columbia in May, 2005. As the church was in its formative stages, as we prayed and sought God’s direction for this new church plant, I became more and more convinced that many people today do not attend church because they do not see salvation as being relevant to their lives. Their concept of “religion” is merely something you “do” on Sunday morning. They equate salvation with being ready to die, and since they don’t plan to die anytime soon, they put off coming to Christ until “later”.
Christ came to this earth not just to bring eternal life. He also came to bring us abundant life (see John 10:10). That’s life for today, for here and now. Christ’s death provided the means for us to be restored t to a daily relationship with God. Prior to their sin, Adam and Eve walked daily in the garden with God. They walked and talked together as friends. Through Christ, we can now be restored to that kind of relationship with God.
You see, our relationship with God doesn’t have to end at noon on Sunday when service is over. We can share every aspect of daily life with Him. Our relationship with God can make a difference in our workplaces, our homes, and our community.
Christ died that we might have abundant life and fellowship with God everyday. We hope you will come share this abundant life with us!
